This fast-paced, action-packed, zany comedy filled with a plethora of hilarious characters has fun roles for all. The good guys are really good and the bad guys are really bad. Black Jack and his Hole in the Head gang are determined to take over all of Red Rock. He already owns the Ponderosa, Hickory Farm, and the Hidden Valley Ranch (“How did he even find it?”) He will soon take over possession of the Little House on the Prarie and evict Granny Smith, Truly Sweet, her little daughter (some say possessed) Lulu and Truly’s “not so bright” brother, Chester unless Truly consents to marry Black Jack. Bessie Bates, owner of the Bates Hotel has sent for US Marshall Rory Rogers to come to the rescue while her nephew, Wilbur is out trying to raise the mortgage payment by selling his horse, Ed. Throw in Texas Pete, the Harvey Girls; Betty Cracker, Marfa Stewart, and Little Debbie,  and their invisible 6-foot-tall Jackrabbit, an attempted kidnapping, a heroine tied to the railroad tracks, and a villain that will seemingly stop at nothing to get his bride and the action never stops. The audience will cheer the heroes and heroines and boo the villain in this rip-snortin’, rootin’-tootin’ spoof of the old west. Add some old-time western sing-a-long tunes, a square dance, a line dance, and a surprise ending for good measure.

This summer, we are bringing Aesop's Fables to life! Imagine your little ones stepping into the shoes of classic characters like the speedy hare, the wise tortoise, the clever ant, and the boastful boy who cried wolf! Campers will play theatre games and learn to create characters while preparing a small presentation, narrated by the instructors and acted out by the children. On the last day of camp, there will be a small presentation with simple sets and costumes.

 ***NEW THIS SUMMER***

Rose is an excellent student. She participates in dance, and theatre, plays the trombone in the band, and is a member of every club at her high school. However, she tends to overextend herself. In her desire to win a full scholarship to the local college, she decides to add an AP English course to her already full schedule. To her disappointment, her first assignment is a paper on fairy tales. Determined to excel, she pulls an all-nighter and reads every fairy tale ever written. To her delight, she finishes her report and submits it on time. When she is called on to read her paper, the fun begins. Which fairy tales did she focus on? Did Sleeping Beauty really meet the Beast? And why does he have a glass slipper? Did Belle really have to “let down her golden locks” for Prince Charmin? This comedy is packed with familiar and unfamiliar fairy tale characters, and this captivating adventure promises to be a fun and unique experience.

One-Week Camp @ Sunset Theatre in Asheboro, NC

For Ages 8 - 19 yrs

July 7 - 12

From climbing beanstalks to confronting giants, our hero Jack has a wealth of adventure stories to share. Some are well-known, like "Jack and the Beanstalk" and "Jack the Giant Killer," while others are less familiar, such as "Jack and the Varmints" and "Jack and the Northwest Wind." These tales are some of the oldest Appalachian folktales passed down through generations of storytellers. There are many variations of these stories, and Bobby has decided to present his versions. During this “One-Week” camp, we will work on our improvisational skills and storytelling to bring these tales to life in a full-blown production.

Lexington, NC

For Ages 8 - 19 yrs

July 14 - 26

Half-day camps are specifically designed to introduce younger actors to the wonderful world of the theatre. Children need the imagination to grow, create, think, and play. A theatrical experience builds self-confidence, improves verbal and literary skills, and teaches children patience, how to work as a team, how to deal with the unexpected, and how to think creatively. Theatre is the single most valuable place where kids can explore the endless possibilities of their imaginations.
